Preparing to remove the through hulls for the engine inlet and kitchen sink drain I needed to move the water strainers and plumbing out of the way. It seems odd that two strainers were used here, one upstream of the water pump and the other downstream. Another issue I see is that the through hull diameter(guessing 3/4″ id) is smaller than most of the strainer fittings and looks to match the pump inlet. Going to look at pics of other installs and see if there’s a simple new solution.
At some point an external oil filter and electric sump drain were installed for ease of changing oil. Curious to see the color of the oil, but haven’t gotten to it just yet.
